App: I pray

This Privacy Policy explains what information I pray ("we," "us," "the app") handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. I pray is an Islamic prayer companion that calculates prayer times, points to the Qibla, schedules reminders, and helps you stay focused by locking distracting apps around prayer windows.

We designed I pray to be a local-first app. Most of your information never leaves your device.

1. Information we handle

1.1 Information stored on your device only

The following is stored locally on your device using the operating system's secure on-device storage (AsyncStorage on iOS/Android). It is not transmitted to us or to any server we control:

• Your name (the name you optionally enter in onboarding or Settings).
• Your selected location (latitude, longitude, and a human-readable place name) used to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction.
• Calculation method preference (e.g., Umm al-Qura, MWL, ISNA, Karachi, etc.).
• Prayer history — which prayers you have marked as completed, with timestamps. Used to compute streaks and on-time rate.
• Onboarding answers — your responses to in-app questions such as estimated daily phone hours, current number of daily prayers, how you feel about salah, habits you wish to change, your thirty-day intention, and your first written du'a. These remain on the device.
• App-lock selections — the list of apps you have chosen to lock around prayer times.
• Notification, adhan, strict-mode, time-format, and pre-lock-window preferences.

You can erase all of the above at any time by tapping Settings → About → Reset app, or by uninstalling I pray.

1.2 Information sent to third parties to provide the service

To compute accurate prayer times and resolve city names, the app makes anonymous network requests to the following third-party services. We do not operate these services and do not receive a copy of the request or response. Only the data described below is sent, and no account, device ID, or personal identifier is attached.
